Gift Ideas for Karrots

Though I wrote on the invite for Karrots' birthday that she doesn't need much, and we don't have room for much, here's a short list of things if you must get her something:
  1. Sippy cups (BPA free please)
  2. Shoes (her foot is just over 4" long)
  3. Gift cards (Target preferably as it's down the street - These can go toward a crib, furniture, or high chair for when we have room for it all...or baby food)
  4. Stackable toys that will work for bath time

If I can think of anything else I'll post it here. Hope to see most of you there on Sunday!

Go Angels!

We went to an Angel's game on Friday night with our friends, Kristin and Bryan. We had fun, even though the Angels lost 10-0 (they got whooped!) and we missed half of the game.

We entertained ourselves by feeding the kids. At one point Karrots got sick of reaching over Bryan and decided to crawl over him and then sit in his lap.

After the game they had a huge fireworks show. Little Logan loved it, but Karrots reached for her daddy and rested her head on his shoulders until it was over.

At the end of the night we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. Right before loading ourselves in the car on the way home, Karrots threw up everything she ate that night all over daddy. It was bad. That night until the following night she had a fever and then caught the cold I had, red and puffy eyes and all.

In spite of our little one getting sick, we had fun. She's already feeling much better and should be 100% by her birthday party!

Last night was really rough. When I tried to nurse her down, which is pretty much our normal routine for bed, she bit me, which didn't help since nursing was hurting again. I thought she might have been teething so we let her cry herself to sleep. She eventually fell asleep, only to wake up screaming later. I got up to see if I could nurse her down again, but she was inconsolable. Seriously! She was fighting me while I held her flailing around on the bed, the whole time screaming. I couldn't even touch her without her slapping at me.

Finally, I grabbed her and went in the living room, hoping Big Red could get some sleep. I really felt like she was being tormented. So, I started singing a worship song. Immediately she calmed down and rested her head on my shoulder. Wow!

I've heard of the power of worship. That God comes down and inhabits our praises. Occassionally I'll play worship music to calm Karrotsdown throughout the day or during naps. BUT, I never knew just how powerful it was with her.

Thank you Lord for inhabiting praise and for giving me the wisdom last night to sing. Thank you for the reminder of the power of worship.
