Taste of Home Entertainment Party

Today I hosted a Taste of Home Entertainment party (TOHE). It's like Tupperware, except it's cookware, serving platters, plates, glasses, home decor, and the like. My friend's mom, Dorothy, was the representative. (If you're interested in their catalog, check it out on her website!)

As I learned about this by going to Daja's TOHE party, she promised to help out with the food. Most of it we were able to serve using TOHE product!

Appetizers!

Sodas were served in the Stainless Double Chiller (pg. 89 - on clearance!)

My mom made a yummy dump cake

Daja made quesadillas from ready to make flour tortillas from Costco
My mom made artichoke dip, served with home-made (by me!) two cheese bread, served on Daja's Italian stitched platter (pg. 13; freezer, dishwasher and oven safe!)
Artichoke Dip
1 large can artichoke hearts
1-8oz. pkg. cream cheese (softened)
1 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonaise
1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dill week
Bake @ 350 degrees for 30 mins.

Mango Salsa served in Daja's Olive 2-piece Dip Chiller (pg. 11)

Mango Salsa

1 mango
1 lime
ginger
1/4 cucumber
1 jalepeno (no seeds)
2 chives
1/2 red bell pepper

Dice all and add a touch of salt.

gDiapers

As going green is on just about everyone's mind recently, I found some flushable diapers, gDiapers. What I can gather from the videos, you simply take out the diaper's flushable liner, take it apart and flush it. If you'd rather use a compost pile, these liners will decompse within 2 months. They're not made of plastic, like disposables, which take 500 yrs. to decompose.

There is also a fabric liner that you can hand wash and dry within 10 mins.

The starter kit goes for around $27 and gives you two diapers and 10 flushables. A case of 128 med/lrg flushables goes for $52. So, after the initial buy, it's about 41 cents each use, which costs quite a bit more than disposables, but you're not filling landfills with non-environmental friendly diapers.

Jailbreak!

She learned this new trick last night when refusing to go to sleep. I guess her little tantrum gave her the energy to crawl out of the co-sleeper...or at least crawl 1/2 way out. As of this afternoon, she's able to complete her jailbreak, which can cause quite a deal of problems for us. Now there is nowhere safe to put her for any amount of time without her being able to get into things (or out of them). Also, no more crying herself to sleep without attacking mommy who sleeps by her. Oh the fun!!

Plus, we have no room to put the crib in our bedroom instead of this thing. The crib is much bigger. I guess it'll all have to wait until we move!

I love this video...you can tell she thinks it's a great game!

Fun with Teefies!

For about a week now Karrots found it rather hilarious to bite down on the spoon that's feeding her. I guess she's rather impressed with her ability to bite now...aahh!!

Passover Seder 2008

This year we spent Passover with our house church. My mom was able to come join us and we all had a great time of remembering God's plan for Israel (and ourselves) and grubbing on good food:

She wasn't so keen on the berries - they were a bit cold

Making noises with her lips

Nap time...yes, she's on her back with her leg resting up on the table leg
