We had some left over shredded beef that I made in the crockpot and so I looked up this recipe for taquitos. First time for me! The recipe called for ground beef so we didn't follow it exactly.
As you can see, they weren't very pretty, but they tasted pretty good! The first ones didn't fry well and some of them didn't stay shut. Anyone have any hints as to make them stay shut?

Toothpicks, then just take them out as you eat. But, I like to use pieces of uncooked spaghetti, that way they kind of cook, so when you crunch on them you won't choke, you can eat them! :-)

Ok, sorry, Heather-- I didn't look at the recipe, before I commented. :-P Ok, now that I am looking at your picture, I don't put my toothpicks in like that. I just jab it straight through all the way in the middle of the taquito/flauta. They stay for me. --sk*

Well, I guess I'm too late. I was going to say the same thing. We use toothpicks. We don't jab them we kind of sew the open end shut with them, but if jabbing works.
