Mexican Drinks - Yum!

I got this recipe for Horchata from one of my friends from church. It's scrumdidliumptious!

1 cup rice (long grain)
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Take 1 cup rice in bowl and pour hot water in it until the rice is covered. Leave it overnight to soak. Next day, drain out the water of the rice (I left 1/2 cup because I thought it would blend better). Take half of the soaked rice (a little more than 1/2 cup) and put it in the blender. Add 2 cups milk, blend until all is mixed. Add 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp. vanilla and blend. Strain through the strainer. (Pour into cups through strainer.) There is usually rice left over. Serve over ice. Repeat with the second half of the rice.


Champurrado:

1 cup Maseca
1 block of Abuelita chocolate
6 cinnamon sticks
1 can evaporated milk

Boil pan of water with 6 cinnamon stick on low until the water is red. Mix in separate pan Abuelita chopped up and maseca. Pour cinnamon water and mix in dry pan so there's no clumps. Add evaporated milk to taste (at least 1 can). If you want it sweeter then add chocolate mix. If you want it thinner, add more milk.
